Karuizawa has sunny days up to 90%! With the stable weather conditions and temperature, the snow fall here is not sufficient. It is one of the few ski resorts in Japan that uses artificial snow. Compared to a natural snow land, lanes are harder and icier. Snow paths are well prepared with relatively high stability.

Karuizawa is one of the earliest public ski resorts with ten ski paths and nine gondolas. Half of its ski paths are green lanes designed with various challenge levels for beginners and intermediate skiers. The whole resort has been basically designed for families. Skiers can select the two red lanes or three black lanes for greater challenge!
The place is ideal for beginners who would like to have skiing fun with conveninet traffic from and to Tokyo. The stable weather condition here is also good for photo taking. Although paths are harder and it may hurt a little bit when falling on the ground but after your skiing, you can also enjoy the fun of shopping.

The Prince Hotel Series under the Seibu company group provide 5 hotels in the Karuizawa Holiday Zone. There is the Karuizawa Prince Hotel East, where you can walk or take the free shuttle bus from Karuizawa station exit South to arrive, and the Prince Villa Karuizawa, providing extravagent villas for tourists.
There are also Karuizawa Prince Hotel West, The Prince Karuizawa, and Karuizawa Asama Prince Hotel, which the latter one is a bit far from Karuizawa station and has shuttle bus services only in the ski season.

Prince Grand Resort Karuizawa
“Prince Grand Resort Karuizawa” is a one-day hot spring facility run by the Prince Hotel. They have garden outdoors bath and outdoors bath with rooftops. Sauna and cold water bath are also provided.
You can view the vast snow scenery by looking outside from the indoor bath.
Fee for adults is only ¥1200 per person and ¥700 for children (3 to 12 years old). It only takes a 15-minute drive from “The Prince Karuizawa Ski Resort” to the hot spring. It might be a great plan to come here to sooth your body and soul while on your trip to skiing.
